After the many accomplishments and over-comings that women have confronted over the years, the month of March has been dedicated in the achievements women have persevered through.
Woman’s History Month originated back to the first International Women’s Day back in 1911. Though it had been celebrated in small gatherings, it wasn’t really until 1980 when President Jimmy Carter issued a presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8th as National Woman’s History Week. After a petition by the National Women’s History Project, congress passed a Public Law (Pub. L 100-9) declaring the entirety of March as Women’s History Month.
