The American Library Association has announced this year’s Youth Media Award Winners and honor books. Included are:
Michael L. Printz Award (excellence in literature for Young Adults)

Coretta Scott King Award (recognizing African American authors and illustrators of outstanding books for children and young adults)

- Honors
- Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia
- The Stars and the Blackness Between Them by Junauda Petrus
- Look Both Ways by Jason Reynolds
Coretta Scott King/John Steptoe New Talent Award
- Winner: Genesis Begins Again by Alicia Williams

American Indian Youth Literature Award (Honors the very best writing and illustrations by and about American Indians.)
- Winner: Hearts Unbroken by Cynthia Leitich Smith

Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature (The award promotes Asian/Pacific American culture and heritage and is awarded based on literary and artistic merit.)
- Winner: They Called Us Enemy by George Takei

Schneider Family Book Award ( books that embody an artistic expression of the disability experience)
- Honor: The Silence Between Us by Alison Gervais

Stonewall Book Award–Mike Morgan & Larry Romans Children’s & Young Adult Literature Award (English-language children’s and young adult books of exceptional merit relating to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience)
- Winner: The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta

- Pet by Akwaeke Emezi
- Like a Love Story by Abdi Nazemian
Sydney Taylor Book Award (For outstanding books for kids and teens that authentically portray the Jewish experience.)
